Kowalski's just a pathetic, nasty mess. I don't know why Fraser loves him, and why Fraser is so obsessed with him that he blames RayV, who is supposed to be his best friend, for not taking care of him. That wasn't RayV's job, and Fraser should know that! I don't blame RayV for not wanting to get close to that nasty mess of Kowalski.

And it's really unoriginal to have "poor little suffering Kowalski" and the Rays not being friends. Neither one of them are that immature, and they WOULD try to be friends for Fraser's sake. They also have more in common other than Fraser and Stella, so it wouldn't take much for them to be friends.

I hated Kowalski for most of this story. He was just too whiny and immature, especially about Ray Vecchio and RayV's friendship with Fraser, and he's this way in a bunch of F/K stories that I've found. I just can't feel sorry for someone like that, and I don't understand why Fraser wanted to be with someone like that.

I'm glad Kowalski improved in the epilogue enough to allow RayV and Stella and their children to be regular visitors to his and Fraser's home. RayV is a real sweetheart in this story, which I'm glad to see - many F/K writers make him into a monster. And I usually really hate Stella, but she's great in this story, and I like her a lot. I still hate Kowalski for most of the story, however.

Fantastic story. Had me crying over Ray. He seemed so doomed from the start.

Enjoyed this story tremendously, from harrowing opening to happy conclusion.

I really liked the plot. It was serious but not overly angsty.

Getting a Beta reader would be a good idea--you do really well with typos and spelling and stuff like that but your Ray has an awful lot of British-isms running through his head (such as the "lift" in his apartment building and Stella wearing "pyjamas").
