Author's notes: it is my new theory that Vulcan palmistry
relies on  reading the six main lines: Hope, Housing (Home),
Heart, Life,  Longevity and Logic. Spock meditates on what
these six most important  things to a Vulcan means to him.

The first time I noticed him there was a flicker of
awareness deep  inside me. A conviction that he would become
the centre of my  existence. My other half. This certain
conviction awoke hope within  me. A hope that filled me so
rapidly that I was overwhelmed.

I swallowed hard and then did my best to bury the hope so
deep inside  that I would never act upon it. But then he
grinned at me. His eyes  twinkled and hope surged inside me,
refusing to let me go. Hope  burned within me. A hope that
he would become mine.
