Warning: Rated PG-13 for sexual content.

While this poem involves two consenting adults in a sexual situation, many people have voiced opinions on who the second individual is. Since I keep hearing, no it can't be, when I reveal that person's identity, I've decided to leave it up to the reader. Of course, the identity of the first is apparent. And now that this statement is longer than the poem itself, I'll be quiet.

Two Bodies

by Clair Sullivan

Two bodies,
fall back together
fingers fumble
over red wool and
brass buttons

fervent breath
lips part, meet
urgent kiss
flesh tingles for
desires denied

two hands
fingers intertwine, unlock
to stroke
breaths caught, held
moans escape

red wool
discarded, set aside
for now
as two bodies
become one
