Pineapple
Lubricant. Clark, Lex

"What's this?" Clark picked up the pink tube curiously. "Hand cream?"

Lex was far too busy trying to sort out his company over the phone to spare
a glance at his friend, who was rummaging happily around.

"It's far too messy to be hand cream." Clark rubbed his fingers together,
the clear gel spreading smoothly all over his hand.

"Clark, I'm on the phone. I'm sorry, but this is important. Go watch the TV in the meantime?" Lex removed his hand from the mouthpiece. "I'm back with you."

Clark strolled over and sat by the large TV screen.

"A Charlie Brown Special!" Clark turned the volume up. "You know, Lex, I used to love Peanuts when I was younger."

"Aha." Lex wasn't exactly paying attention. Until Clark switched the
channel. Out of the blue, a noise pollution made itself known in the room.

"Clark! Turn it down a bit, would you?" Not that Lex didn't like heavy
metal, but not at this volume during business hours. Clark turned the TV off.

He sniffed at his fingertips. They smelled vaguely of pineapple.

Lex finally got off the phone.

"I'm sorry, Clark, this was an important call." He noticed something. "What
are you doing?"

Clark looked up at him from his seating place on the carpet. "What's in
that pink tube, Lex?"

Lex's head snapped towards the pink tube standing proudly on the desk. It
snapped back at Clark. And back at the tube.

"Why... would you touch that?" He ventured.

"Didn't you see me pick it up?" Clark wasn't sure what it was, but he knew
now it wasn't hand cream.

"I'm not a chameleon, Clark."

Clark didn't follow. "You don't change colours?"

Lex sighed. "I don't have eyes at the sides of my head, Clark. I didn't see you."

Clark wiggled his fingers at his older, more sophisticated friend. He wanted an answer.

"It's lubricant, Clark."

Clark sniffed again.

"Smells like pineapple."
