"I will not return to the council without him." The young man was stubborn, angry, and worse than that, had all the cards.
"We can't allow it." They tried. They really did.
"You need me. I'm to be the next watcher, the slayer is up and slaying already, and you can't do this without me." He smirked. "I'll be your watcher, but he's coming along."
The council was troubled. No watcher had ever had a wife before, not to mention a male lover. But they had no choice, and they knew it.
"Fine. You may bring Ethan Rayne to Sunnydale."
