I knew I'd read and liked several of your stories, but couldn't remember which they were. Clicking around Horizon I realise there were lots - I think I read them on Savvy back in 2006 when I first discovered Pirates. This is my absolute favourite. I always love magical!Jack, and the way you've made him so practical and NOT religious about his magic is just perfect. And mysterious Bootstrap.
