Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs
by hilsonlover
"Wilson!" House shouted, causing Snow White to grumble over the interruption of her beauty-sleep on House's lap.
Wilson emerged from the bathroom, a towel draped over his shoulders. His wet hair was sticking out in the weirdest angles, giving him a completely disheveled appearance. House almost forgot what he was going to say at seeing Wilson in this state. That Wilson was only dressed in a pair of boxers but otherwise naked didn't help to clear House's head - not at all. He stared and swallowed but his brain only came up with thoughts like, "All mine!" or "Wow! That hickey on his shoulder looks truly amazing."
"House? Are you okay?" Worried brown eyes gazed at him, pulling him out of his train of thought.
"Huh?" House cleared his throat and squirmed a bit on the sofa, causing Snow White to grumble louder. This eventually brought his attention back to the now and here. "Your dog thinks I'm a cushion. And she's getting fat and lazy."
One single bad word about Snow White could turn Wilson into a furious, overprotective mother-hen. Now was no exception. Wilson's eyebrows knitted together and wrinkles sprung up across his forehead. The hands-on-hips pose looked somewhat ridiculous in Wilson's current dressing state. House had to suppress a big smirk form spreading over his face, when Wilson flared up, "She's not getting fat! She just likes to cuddle you. Hell knows why!"
"You like to cuddle me too. If I have to be cuddled at all, I prefer it to be you," House sneered.
Wilson rolled his eyes while at the same time a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. That was as close as House would ever admit that he liked it when Wilson curled himself around him or spooned or simply laid his head in House's lap while they were watching TV. Wilson turned around, intent on blow-drying his hair when House addressed him again, "Hey! Where are you going? Get this dog off of me!"
Wilson sighed then turned back. "Can't the great Gregory House put a little dog down from his lap?"
House began to scowl, "She might bite me again!"
"Bullshit! Snow White doesn't bite."
"She already did that once," House countered.
"You threw her out of our bed and slapped my ass. She thought I was in danger and tried to protect me," Wilson explained in exasperation. He had already explained this to House countless times. Obviously his attempt at giving an explanation didn't bear fruit.
House eyed Snow White suspiciously and carefully slid a hand beneath her belly. Immediately she growled and House froze. "See?" he whined. "Come on! She is your dog. Get her down from me." For emphasis he put on his best pleading face with big eyes and a huge pout.
"I can't believe you!" Wilson threw his hands up in the air and walked over to House. He bent down and cooed, "Hey, sweetie. Sorry to interrupt your nap."
Tenderly Wilson stroked Snow White's back. In response she croaked an eye open, blinked at Wilson and then started to wag her tail. Wilson smiled at her and picked her up. She snuggled against him and nuzzled her head against Wilson's cheek. House stared at the display of so much affection in bewilderment. Finally he ordered, "No kissing!"
For good measure Wilson made a big fuss out of carrying Snow White to her basket and pecked her on the top of her head. House scowled at Wilson who reacted with sticking his tongue out. Hastily he retreated to the shelter of the bathroom when House threatened to get up and show him the ropes.
Snow White yawned, curled herself together and was asleep within a minute.

House's comment about Snow White being more silent and needy for affection stuck in Wilson's head and he observed her more closely. Indeed House seemed to be right although he didn't need to know that - the gloating would be too annoying. Sometimes Wilson thought that Snow White showed a small bump and her nipples looked more swollen than usually. All the signs could only mean one thing ...
Wilson postponed a visit to the vet for almost one and a half week. On a Thursday afternoon he rescheduled his appointments, picked up Snow White from her sleeping cushion in his office and drove to the vet. House was more than busy with his newest patient, for which Wilson was grateful.
The vet confirmed Wilson's apprehension - Snow White was pregnant. Wilson had a vague idea when this could have happened and was rather curious about what the puppies would look like. If his assumption was correct the father was a Beagle. Inwardly he squealed as he thought about that - the puppies would be unbelievably cute!
He pressed Snow White to his chest and slid his hands through her soft fur when he walked back to his car, murmuring, "So, you're going to be a Mommy, huh? How do we break the news to House?" A short, contemplative moment later he groaned, "Oh my God! How will we be able to take care of you and your babies?"
Snow White nudged his face with her nose, wagged her tail and licked around the shell of his ear. Wilson giggled as her tongue tickled him and said, "Maybe I could ask Cuddy for some weeks of paternity leave?" He took in a deep breath; worry crept into his voice as he continued, "You know that you're getting me into hot water, don't you?" In a more whiny tone he confessed, "I don't want to tell House that you're pregnant! He will threaten to do ... whatever and ..." He trailed off when Snow White started to bark softly, looking at him from her big black and shiny eyes. He scratched her behind her ears and assured her, "Sure, sweetie. We'll figure something out. Don't worry. He loves you too."
Snow White seemed to frown and tilted her head to one side as if she would think about Wilson's words. The contemplative expression on her face caused Wilson to chuckle. "This is odd. Let's drive home before someone overhears our conversation and thinks I'm nuts and in dire need of seeing a psychiatrist."

House spared Wilson the trouble of breaking the news of Snow White being pregnant for the next two days because he was absorbed in diagnosing the patient. Their first evening together at home didn't leave Wilson a chance to tell House about Snow White's condition. Wilson was too occupied with yielding himself to House; not once, but twice, leaving Wilson incredibly sore and satisfied.
The next few days after that flew by without giving Wilson the chance to tell House about Snow White. At least that's what Wilson told himself though he was aware that he was sticking his head in the sand. Therefore House's question caught him off guard, "What's up with Snow White? I swear, she is getting fat!"
"Um, really?" Wilson retorted, aiming for a casual tone but failed miserably. House picked up on Wilson's tone immediately and frowned. He didn't press the subject further and Wilson sighed in relief, believing that he was off the hook.
Half an hour later a sharp tug at his ear pulled Wilson away from his paperwork and he hissed an, "Ow!". House was hovering above him, looking angry. Frantically Wilson thought about what he could have done to make House angry. He could only think of one thing and felt heat creeping in his cheeks. House's hand was still holding his ear as said man bent down and rumbled, "You're hiding something. If my assumption is correct, then your dog is in labor right now."
"What?" Wilson squeaked and scrambled to his feet, hurrying over to Snow White. Indeed she was in labor and just as Wilson knelt down next to her the first puppy was born. Six more followed quickly while House and Wilson watched. House had lowered himself to the floor, his legs outstretched in front of him. Despite being annoyed by Wilson keeping the pregnancy a secret he was smiling as he watched Snow White delivering one puppy after the other. Snow White licked her babies clean and helped them to find her nipples so they could suck.
House glanced over to Wilson and his face softened when he discovered the expression of awe on his lover's face. House's urge to yell at Wilson evaporated instantly. Instead he grabbed one of Wilson's hands and beckoned him to scoot closer. Wilson was wary but complied and settled between House's legs, his back resting against House's chest. They sat in this position for a while until Wilson broke the silence, "Are you ... are you mad at me?"
House didn't answer which caused Wilson to squirm and finally crane his head backwards. He wasn't greeted with anger as he expected but with a soft expression on House's face. House kissed him before he admitted, "I should be mad at you. But ... I'm not. Maybe I'll become angry later when we have to deal with work and taking care of a litter of puppies."
"I so love you," Wilson blurted, then pulled House in for another tender kiss.
Snow White got up and carried one of her babies over to Wilson where she carefully laid it on his lap. Warmth spread out within Wilson at the display of trust. Tenderly he stroked the fur of the little trembling creature. Snow White nudged House's hand and he petted her head shortly, then the little puppy. A short moment later Snow White picked up her baby and carried it back to the basket. She snuggled together with her babies which drifted off to an exhausted sleep. Snow White sighed, closed her eyes and followed her babies.
House tightened the embrace around Wilson's torso and rested his chin on Wilson's shoulder. "Don't you dare think about keeping the puppies."
Wilson winced at being caught that easily and stuttered, "But -"
"No. One dog is enough!"
Wilson gave in, for the moment at least. They kept on staring at the dogs in awe, knowing that they had just experienced something wonderful.
"Geez, we have to search for seven names!" House exclaimed suddenly.
Slowly a grin spread out over Wilson's face and he tittered, "Oh, I know their names! Dopey, Grumpy, Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sneezy and Sleepy."
