Kids, don't try this at home!

Jim Rose made his name touring with the Lollapalooza rock shows in 1992. During the second season of "The X-Files," Jim Rose and The Enigma appeared as (what else?) a couple of sideshow freaks in the humorous Darin Morgan-penned episode, "Humbug." In the episode, Jim Rose plays Dr. Blockhead, a kind of zenmaster who hammers nails up his nose and stages Houdini-like escapes. Enigma, meanwhile, plays "The Conundrum," is a puzzle-tattooed, cricket-munching geek. In his book, "Freak Like Me (Inside the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow)," Rose writes, "Today, I play a freak on TV. But not long ago I really was one." There is an interview with him on The Onion site.
