Death
by Patt Paulos-Darrow
Death, you shall not have him.
Death, you will not get your way.
Death, this is not his time.
Death will have to come another day.
Death, please listen to my heart.
Death, please let him go.
Death, there is nothing here for you.
Death, no one else needs to know.
Death, please take pity on this man.
Death, he is loved by one and all.
Death, things will change, I promise.
Death, please do not let him fall.
Death, you have to be listening to me.
Death, he is my brother, my friend.
Death, again I am begging, leave him alone.
Death, please tell me this is not the end.
Death, there has to be some things that are golden.
Death, can't you see that one of them is he.
Death, let him start breathing again.
Death, I prefer that you would take me.
Death, I am on my hands and knees now.
Death, please show me some kind of sign.
Death, I am not above begging, he is worth it.
Death, please do not take him he is mine.
Death, you have given me back a purpose for life.
Death, you knew that he was too good to go now.
Death, I thank you, for passing him by.
Death, I will make it up to him, somehow.
Life, please take very good care of him, he is special.
Life, I am so thrilled to have him once again here.
Life thank you for dealing with death, to make up your minds.
And I shall work on making it up to him, there will be nothing that I fear.
