Magazine cover, newspaper clippings. Impersonal records of a life traced from afar. A house too big for a lonely old man, sprawling lawn kept immaculate by hired hands. Fading memories and bitter regret hang in the air and gather in the shadows.

Blair and Sally sit in the kitchen, trading tales of the men in the living room, like treasured recipes that one day they hope to cook and serve. Their voices spill out the open door along with the last of sunlight, and Jim and William trade a knowing look.

As one, they rise and walk to the kitchen.
