The premise: A former army soldier -- Jim Ellison -- is the sole survivor
of a
doomed reconnaissance mission that forces him to spend 18 months
in the
Peruvian jungle. He discovers that he is blessed -- or damned --
with hyper-
vigilant senses (a phenomenon first described by the 19th century
British
explorer Richard Burton). His newfound senses allow him to see,
hear, taste,
smell and feel with extraordinary prowess. To help him assert some
measure of
control over this sensory overload, Ellison reluctantly seeks out
anthropology
graduate student Blair Sandburg, an expert on pre-civilized cultures,
who grasps
Ellison's predictament and helps him harness his strange gift by
joining
Ellison as a permanent police department observer.
Starring Richard Burgi as Detective Jim Ellison, Garett Maggart as
Blair
Sandburg, Bruce A. Young as Captain Simon Banks, and Anna Galvin
as
Inspector Megan Connor.
