          NC-17: Okay, here's the deal. I've twisted and turned it every which way, and it is downright impossible to edit this down from NC-17. But Darklady is right that the story is pretty essential to the J'onnverse. So this is how I'm out of my conundrum (with apologies, I just don't post NC-17 material). I'm posting as much as I can of the lead in and leaving you with the denouement (which is hugely important to a much later fic). When things get steamy, I'm going to provide elipses along which you can work you imagination with the following bits of knowledge: If you've read Thesis, you know what Martian sex would be like. You all have a pretty good idea of what the human version of sex is (and in this case, think predominantly het). Add in the fact that Martians possess shape changing abilities and are by no means obligated to have only two hands, or one mouth, etc. With that information, you'll probably craft a version of this for yourself which would outdo anything I've already written anyway. If you feel you absolutely, positively you must see the whole story, please contact me privately and we can talk about it

Eel O'Brian's struggle to come out of the closet began in "Waking" and continued in "Bedtime Stories" and "Issues." J'onn's faulty memory can be attributed to the events of canon's "Terror Incognita" (JLA #55-58) and the extension of those events in the first several stories in year 1 of this 'verse

          G: This cues a change in focus for the J'onnverse - J'onn's back on duty, the "family" which is "need to know" (minus one - or two) has been informed, the first blush of the relationship is beginning to settle toward that familiarity of an established thing, and while there's still much to come and much to work out, that working out is going to happen in the course of more "normal" life. There'll still be the occasional vignette, but the next stretch of the J'onnverse does much of its development in long adventure arcs - some JLA and some Batfamily. I hope you'll stick with us for the ride
