Unclear Reflection

The reflection is a stranger to her; a mockery of the beauty she once was. She touches the ruddy complexion that's not her own, remembers when men used to cup her face lovingly. Adoringly.

But that was a long time ago. Way preceding her death. Long before she dropped to her knees for anyone who could make her a star. When she was innocent and clear eyed, promises of her perfect future sparkling in her eyes. Back when she still had dreams of being a real star.

Back when she was beautiful.

A time she'll never see again.
