"Oh, my God."

Stottlemeyer glanced at Sharona. "What?"

"Over there." She gestured across the room. "Adrian and Randy."

"What about them?"

"Watch their hands."

Stottlemeyer looked over. "They're talk - holy shit."

"Told you."

Across the room, Randy touched Adrian's hand again, and he still didn't flinch. Stottlemeyer was certain his jaw was about to unhinge. "He's touching him."

"And he's not flinching." Sharona looked over at Stottlemeyer again. "What's the date?"

"November eleventh." Stottlemeyer held out his hand. "Eleven months, nine days. Pay up."

Sharona dug a ten out of her purse. "I really thought it would take at least a year."
