Big Ed sat quietly in the darkness, reflecting on the last few hours.

He’d been so damn angry, having Delinda’s attacker in his possession. Angrier than I could ever remember being. Kicking the shit out of him hadn’t done anything to cool his rage. His fingers had itched to wrap around the bastard’s neck and slowly squeeze the life out of him. He could almost taste the sweetness that death would have brought him.

But he hadn’t done it.

Not that Danny had believed he wouldn’t.

A slow smile tugged at his lips.

His Danny had been almost as scared of what he was going to do to the squealing fucker as he was.

Danny had begged him not to kill the asshole. Had paced back and forth as if he couldn’t decide to run or stay.

But he’d stayed.

And that was very likely what had kept the fucker bleeding under his feet from dying.

He couldn’t do that to his Danny.
