Engulfed In Hell
by Hondo
I Truely Believed I would never see the day
Yet, in mute witness I numbly gaze all around
My deck littered with metal, scorched, twisted in every which way
Displays are now shattered plexi-glass as explosions abound
Looking, contemplating at the carnage in grim darkness
A useless attempt, I try to fight back by my tears
As my once pristine bridge is all ruined and lifeless
Extracting from it's crypt the worst of my fears
My ship now defunct, vulnerable, adrift in plain sight
Countless of her crew injured, or worse yet, are dead
Innocent casualties amany from this our unwanted fight
I see naught but misery and loneliness for me in the times ahead
And the final blow to strike at my heart comes as day is done
When he who would comfort me and ease my soul is no longer there
For without his attentive caring pressence. Solace, there's none
The key to my spirit..my eternal love, is I know not where
Snatched from me by force. Withheld from my side
For I know he would never voluntarily leave
I am left with nowhere to turn, just drapped in my pride
At last accepting, over the years I have done nothing but self deceive
Crying myself to sleep, as into the emptiness I pray, yet again
Regretting the time wasted as I played the shrew
All his offered affection, that I countermet with disdain
Whispering my heart to the darkness, My dearest can you hear me..I love you!
