Long ago, the evil Talpa and his Dynasty waged war up on the Earth from his supernatural realm. Defeated by a lone warrior, Talpa was banished, but never forgotten. Reigniting his thirst for power, Talpa along with his Warlords have once again invaded the mortal realm seeking to conquer the inhabitants of the Earth once and for all. But the forces of Darkness are not unopposed - Protected by a mystical elemental armor, five young men known as the Ronin warriors are the last line of defense against Talpa and his supernatural army.
Yes, I admit it, that was shamelessly abducted from the Bandai site where they have put up the review for the Ronin Warrior DVD's that are coming out starting in April. ~Can I hear a Woo! And a really loud Hoo!~ I claim no part of it not a word came from my brain. But it is the best short review of the series that I've run across. Not surprising since it's put out by the creators.
I am very excited and can't wait for them to come out. Ronin Warriors is now the only series that I really want to see that I haven't had the chance to. I've seen just enough of them to know that I will like them but not enough to really have a strong grasp for the storyline. Unfortunately I was at the mercy of rush hour traffic and have the horrible habit of forgetting to set up my VCR.
The really nice thing about the DVD's coming out this spring is that they will have not only the American version Ronin Warriors. But they will also have the Japanese version that came out in 1988 called Yoroiden Samurai Troopers. Though the two series are basically the same it will be interesting to see what little changes were made from one to the other.
Until I've seen the episodes I don't want to talk about the show too much. But I know April will be here before we know it. Instead I have put together a profile section for the different members of the Ronin Warriors so that you can get to know them.
As I traveled around the net reading different profiles and fiction it was amazing the amount of information known about these five young men as compared to so many other characters from other series. The profiles that I have put together pull information from both the Yoroiden Samurai Troopers version of the show and the Americanized Ronin Warriors version. But as there were supposed to have been very few changes from one to the other story wise it should be accurate. It will be interesting to finally see the episodes so that I can make my own observations.
During the second episode the evil Talpa uses his magic to scatter the five warriors through Japan. A poem is the only clue to finding each one.
The first line of the 'Poem of the Yoroi': Torch of spirit, sought through five,
Find each of the rest of the lines with the warrior that they correspond to.
Warriors of Light
Ryo Sanada Seije Date
Touma Hashiba Sai Mouri
Shuu Rei Faun
Poem of the Yoroi
Torch of spirit, Sought through five,
Drinking Strength from immortal fire,
The darkest prison sheds the light,
Churning beneath a swirl of salt,
Burning within a throne of rock,
Floating amongst the eyes of the ages,
Unmourned in the stream of the sky.
As time permits I'll start gathering and posting information about the Warlords. But I think this will be a good start for now.
I found this picture on dahalochicks site. I take no credit for it making it's way to the web. It's a gorgeous poster of all the characters good guys and bad (~heehee~ sort of bad anyway). Her banner is below with a link to her page! As I've metioned before I take no credit for any of the pictures. All credit and praise goes to the orginal creators and those that took the time to scan and bring the pictures to the web.
