NOTE: The "Nettie" Phinney home which was situated on the Ben Phinney Road, burned to the ground one morning as a result of Nettie's brother, Stephen Stronach, lighting a fire in the stove and leaving the drafts open while he visited the outhouse. He returned to find the whole kitchen ablaze. All lives were saved but among the possessions lost was the family Bible of Rev. Ebenezer Stronach. This story was told to the late Mack Stronach by the nephew of Nettie Phinney, the late Gordon Stronach.
