"A Feeling of Strange Privilege 2: Aftermath" By Surreal (surreal666@hotmail.com) Rating: NC-17 for m/m interaction Category: Langly/Byers slash Spoilers/Notes: No spoilers, but this is a continuation of my first fanfic (posted on Ephemeral) of same title. (shameless pimping, I know...) Archive: Unusual Suspects, eventually Summery: After the events in part one, Langly and Byers need some emotional healing. Gunmen HQ That night 11:35pm "Come on, Ree. It's getting late, and you need to get some rest; we checked you out pretty early this morning," Byers says as he tries to get Langly away from his computer and into bed. "Hang on, John, I've almost got it..." Langly protests, fingers frantically running over the keyboard in a desperate attempt to hack into something...anything. He hadn't been allowed to use a computer while he was in the hospital, despite Byers' rather uncharacteristic sneaking of the younger man's laptop in for him, only to get chewed out by Scully and several nurses. "Langly, it'll still be there tomorrow," Byers insists, brushing Langly's hands away from the keyboard and closing the laptop, then unplugging it. "Hey! You know that's bad for the computer, you're gonna damage the hard drive..." "Would you have let me boot down?" came the smug question. Langly sighs, and shrugs. "Not when I was in the middle of something," he whines. "You can get back on it tomorrow. Come on. Go take your pills, and come to bed," Byers says gently, pushing the younger man toward the hall and into the bathroom. "Ugh," Langly makes a gagging sound. "Those things make me feel sick." Byers shoves the bottle of painkillers into his hand and heads down the hall toward Langly's bedroom. "I'm sorry, but you have to; you know it'll hurt like hell if you don't." his voice trails off as he disappears down the hall. Langly sighs, and opens the container, shaking two rather large pills into his hand and considering them. He looks at the label on the bottle: '2-3 every 6 hrs'. He looks back at the pills, then closes his eyes, mentally judging the pain in his chest. The sharp sting he feels with every breath tells him to take the third. Byers scoots to one side of Langly's bed when the room's original occupant walks in. Langly smiles weakly at his lover and crawls into the bed next to him, letting the older man pull the covers over him. "Here, lay back, I've got you," Byers tells him
