REIS STRONACH, ESQUIRE

Reis Stronach was born 12 June 1808 to George Stronach and his wife, Mary Fales. He was raised and educated at Stronach Mountain, his father being his teacher. He married before 1838 to Mary Reagh, a daughter of John Reagh and Sarah Gates. He farmed on land obtained from his father which is now known as Stronach Brook - once a popular spot for Sunday school picnics. In 1845 he became a Justice of the Peace, from whence he became entitled to use Esq. after his name. He died on 17 Aug 1868, leaving a widow and a large family. His widow, Mary, married again in 1873 to a widower named John McKeown. No records concerning her death or burial have been found to date.
