I am an Air Force Brat. When you grow up moving every couple of years, you quickly figure out that you can change your entire personality every time you move, and the only people who are the wiser are your family. What a great way to improve yourself - you can make changes, both subtle and major, without worry that your childhood friends are going to laugh at you or forever remind you of your youthful foibles. This can either lead to a pretty neat human being, or one with multiple personality disorder.
